Automotive Detailer Supervisor | John Wayne Airport, CA

Clay Lacy Aviation is looking for a strong, experienced Auto Detailer Supervisor, for our full- Automotive Detailing service at John Wayne Airport (KSNA). The position will be working the following shift:

  • Weekday Shift (Monday – Friday)
  • Must be available for before hours, after hours, weekends, and holidays (as needed)

Position Summary

The Auto Detailer is responsible for the efficient execution of the work scope and the cleaning, detailing, and paint compounding/polishing, performed under the authority of

Clay Lacy Aviation. Support the department manager with the daily administrative duties. Will support the aircraft cleaning department with tasks and workload as needed. Promote the Clay Lacy Aviation vision, mission, and values to create a positive team environment that raises the level of safety, service, and value for our customers and employees.

Responsibilities

  • Train new employees on cleaning techniques.
  • Schedule, plan, and implement all automotive detailing tasks.
  • Communicate with customers, Customer Service Representatives, Line service, and appropriate employees for scheduling all automotive detailing.
  • Order and maintain all automotive detailing consumables.
  • Participate with management on staff reviews.
  • Support and implement policies, procedures, and goals from management staff.
  • Conduct interviews of potential candidates for employee
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 – 5+ years of Automotive detailing

Education

  • High School/GED

Skills and Abilities

  • Washing and detailing of the exterior, engine bay, undercarriage, wheels, tires, interior, upholstery (all leathers and fabrics), and carpet extraction/shampooing
  • Familiar with and use of variable speed rotary, constant-drive dual action, orbiting dual action, and random orbiting polishers and waxers.
  • All levels of prepping, claying, paint correction, compounding, polishing, glazing, sealing, and waxing.
  • Familiar with and use of carpet and upholstery extractors.
  • Familiar with cleaning and care techniques of leather, vinyl, plastic, and fabrics.
  • Use of carpet extractors/shampooers.
  • Plastic exterior lighting lens restoration.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workflow
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Able to multi-task.
  • Known for working well with all levels of managers, staff, clients, and
  • Able to handle sensitive documents in a very confidential
  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking

  • Familiarity with different automotive vehicle makes and models.
  • Strong understanding of safety training and risk
  • Pass pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
  • Must have a valid California C Class Driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to operate vehicles with manual transmissions.
