Aircraft Cleaning & Detailing, CA, Van Nuys

Position Summary

The Aircraft Detailer/Cleaner Lead is responsible for the efficient execution of the work scope and the maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations performed under the authority of the Clay Lacy FAA Certificated Repair Station and promotes the Clay Lacy Aviation vision, mission, and values to create a positive team environment that raises the level of safety, service, and value for our customers and employees.

Shift: Weekday Shift (Monday Friday 7:00am – 4:00pm) / Must be available to work before and after hours, weekends, holidays and days off.

Compensation: $27 – $28/hr

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct all cleaning staff.
  • Train new employees on cleaning techniques.
  • Maintain quality assurance of all aircraft cleaning.
  • Schedule, plan and implement all aircraft cleaning tasks.
  • Communicate with management, customers, flight crews, ground support crews, Customer Service Representative agents, vendors, and appropriate employees for scheduling all aircraft cleaning.
  • Order and maintain all aircraft cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Participate with management on staff reviews.
  • Support and implement policies, procedures, and goals from management staff.
  • Support with supervisory duties when shift Supervisor is away off site, out of office, and/or when working independently
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

  • Thorough knowledge of the general aviation cleaning industry, aircraft makes and models, and ground support suppliers
  • Strong understanding of safety training and risk management
  • Pass pre-employment drug testing and background checks
  • Must have a valid C Class Driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Must obtain a Motor Vehicle Operating Permit (MVOP), once upon employment
