Position Summary

The Manager of Charter Services will lead a charter service team. Charter Services includes charter clientele relationship and communication, full-filling efficient solutions and managing sales teams’ training and activities. Directly reporting to this position will be Charter Sales Specialists and Associates of approximately 3-6 employees. The position will support charter sales teams and aircraft management customers through professional teamwork with various departments. The position reports to the VP of Owner and Charter Services along with the SVP of Commercial Operations in a matrix organization. There are three primary responsibilities of this role and are broken into approximately percent of the time.

Managing Responsibilities (75%)

  • Responsible for high-performance sales and service professionals to reach the maximum potential.
  • Scheduling days off, vacations, and the holiday schedule of the Flight Support Team.
  • Train all staff on procedures, protocols, and systems.
  • As needed, assist in recruiting, training, and developing team members.
  • Inlay high-quality charter demand with the fleet of aircraft owners to optimize calendar, crew, and aircraft utilization.
  • Serves as liaison between the customer and various departments and external groups, including flight operations, accounting, security, customs, and others. Prepares and maintains the information supporting this communication between entities.
  • Resolves customer requests, questions, and concerns, which frequently require analysis of situations to determine the best use of resources.
  • Supports team effort through courteous and professional interaction, excellent communication, and a genuine desire to service our clients.
  • Promotes and maintains a positive image of Clay Lacy Aviation and adheres to the highest level of ethics whether you are communicating verbally, in writing or in person. Sensitive to the aircraft owners’ needs by using varying degrees of discretion.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain and manage sales process documentation.
  • Ongoing development and ownership of sales process enablement tools in HubSpot, FL3XX, and other platforms as determined through Sales IT Specialist.
  • Sales Planning Process – Including annual sales plan (revenue and margin goals, quotas as a whole and per team member throughout the sales funnel, customer targets and segments approach, general strategies and tactics for existing and new business) as well as expense budgets and managed fleet goals.
  • Maintain good communication and expectations between business development, Charter, and Owner services teams.
  • Create, manage and train playbooks that support the sales process and sales enablement tools.
  • Architect, manage and run daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly, and annual sales meetings with the sales teams and with company leadership.
  • Train, coach, and motivate sales staff through one-on-one interactions and group initiatives.
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Account Services (12.5%)

  • In supporting the aircraft management customer, provide support for market summary data, participating in goal review and management meetings.
  • Support Owner services is identifying solutions off fleet when necessary
  • Take on new region growth strategy for management customers, flight department, sourcing with strategic partners, and wholesale community

Sales Responsibilities (12.5%)

  • Participate in sales activities to maintain currency with the systems and workflows.
  • Maintain a book at or below $4M per year to ensure sales doesn’t outweigh the management of the team. If necessary to distribute sales into the team for balance, that is encouraged.
  • Utilize the systems and drive constant improvement and workflow efficiency.



BS/BA in business management or the aviation industry or equivalent work experience.



10+ years of experience in Charter Department and/or Flight Dispatch Activities.

Experience with customer relationships and support is a plus.

  • Intermediate level of computer literacy.
