Position Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for various general ledger account reconciliations, supports the general ledger closing process, periodic analysis and financial reporting, and development of the Company’s annual budget.  The successful candidate combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to provide accuracy, and improvements to work products and processes.

  • Participate in the annual budget process. Ensure budget assumptions reflect a reasonable outcome and are supported with documentation and other build-up data.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and related analyses.
  • Support and enhance the efficiency of the monthly closing process, by reducing the number of closing days. Review account balances for reasonableness and prepares journal entries as needed.
  • Reconcile cash daily and follow up on unreconciled items, responsible for monthly bank account reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly corporate overhead cost allocations.
  • Prepare selected balance sheet reconciliations with sufficient detail to facilitate timely clearing and follow-up.
  • Prepare variance analysis of general ledger balances to ensure that monthly activity is fully recorded and reconciled.
  • Support the manager to develop schedules, procedures, and system enhancements to enable timely accumulation and reporting of financial data.
  • Prepare yearend audit schedules and supporting documentation
  • Ensure accounting records are prepared and maintained in accordance with GAAP and the company’s accounting policies.
  • Research and resolve accounting questions and issues from user departments.
  • Adhere to internal control procedures to maintain company financial integrity.
  • Participate in other projects, as requested.


Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.


  • 4+ years of relevant experience in accounting.
  • CPA is a plus.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Microsoft Great Plains, Vena Reporting, and Corridor is a Plus.
