Bas de Bruijn

Bas de Bruijn serves as Head of Advisory Services at Clay Lacy Aviation, where he advises corporate and private flight departments on aligning aviation operations with broader business and organizational objectives. His advisory perspective is informed by his experience as a former Senior Director of Aviation and Chief Pilot for a Fortune 50 company, where aviation strategy, governance, and executive service expectations intersected daily.

 

Bas is an international Gulfstream G550 captain with experience supporting complex private and corporate aviation operations. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and an MBA from Nyenrode Business Universiteit in the Netherlands. This dual background allows him to bridge operational execution with senior leadership and governance decisions.

 

His peer-reviewed research, published in the Journal of Air Transport Management, examines how business aviation influences executive well-being, engagement, and organizational performance.
